Alien, Permanent Resident Commuters

This is a commuter program for two types of applicants. Permanent residents (green card holders) who continually live in Mexico or Canada and commute regularly to their U.S. employment and return home at night. The program additionally covers seasonal agricultural workers who commute for extended periods during and for extended planting or harvesting seasons. They still are considered continuous workers if during the off season they temporarily work for a short duration in their home country.

Workers utilize this system to maintain their homes, family and friends and enjoy the income tax, health care or social program benefits in the home country.

The employment must be regular and stable. Self employed persons are not eligible for this program.
