SEVIS & SEVIS II
The Student & Exchange Visitor Information System (SEVIS) is a system maintained by a Designated School Official at the government approved educational institution for all F and M visas. The system is designed to monitor all foreign students, enrollment at the school of their choice or their program participation. It also tracks their entrances into the U.S. and verifies that their work is related to their areas of study.
SEVIS II is a paperless process for all activities related to the admission and tracking of F & M visa students and J exchange program participants. It is designed to use digital signatures to sign electronic forms. The system is still being developed, will also probably also monitor those exiting from the U.S. and is not yet implemented.
